NIT Nagaland Releases Fee Schedule for January–June 2026 Semester

National Institute of Technology Nagaland has released the fee payment schedule for the even semester (January–June 2026) for undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes.
As per the circular issued by the Dean of Academics on December 17, 2025, fee payment for all students will commence on December 22, 2025, and continue until January 23, 2026. All payments must be made exclusively through the State Bank of India Collect portal.
Course Registration Schedule
Course registration for B.Tech students of the 2025 and 2023 batches is scheduled for January 22, 2026. Registration for B.Tech students of the 2024 and 2022 batches, along with M.Tech students, M.Sc students in Physics and Chemistry (2024 and 2025 batches), and all PhD scholars, will take place on January 23, 2026.
Students who fail to complete registration within the prescribed dates may register late between January 27 and January 30, 2026, subject to a late fee of ₹500 per day. The institute has clearly stated that no fee payment or course registration will be accepted after January 30, 2026.
Students availing bank loans must ensure that funds are credited to the institute by January 23, 2026. In case of anticipated delays, students are required to submit an application endorsed by the Head of Department and the Dean of Student Affairs.
Fee Structure Details
For B.Tech students in the 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 8th semesters, the institute fee amounts to ₹72,750, which includes ₹62,500 as tuition fees, along with charges for computer access, internet, library, examinations, registration, cultural activities, student aid, sports, and medical insurance.
Students opting for hostel accommodation are required to pay an additional ₹32,000, covering establishment charges, a ₹21,000 mess advance (adjustable on a per-day basis), and hostel rent including electricity and water charges. The total payable amount for hostellers comes to ₹104,750.
For M.Tech students in the 2nd and 4th semesters, the institute fee is ₹45,250, including ₹35,000 as tuition fees. With hostel accommodation, the total payable amount is ₹77,250.
M.Sc students in Physics and Chemistry enrolled in the 2nd and 4th semesters are required to pay ₹17,750 as institute fees, including ₹7,500 tuition fees, with the total amount reaching ₹49,750 for those opting for hostel facilities.
PhD scholars, including full-time and part-time internal candidates, are required to pay ₹10,850 per semester, which includes ₹7,500 towards tuition fees.
Tuition Fee Waiver Policy
The institute has reiterated that Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students are eligible for full tuition fee waivers. Economically backward students with an annual family income below ₹1 lakh are also eligible for 100% tuition fee remission, while those with income between ₹1 lakh and ₹5 lakh receive a two-thirds tuition fee waiver.
Administrative Circulation
The circular has been circulated to all Heads of Departments for dissemination among students, faculty, and staff. Copies have also been forwarded to the Director, Registrar, and other concerned administrative offices.
The announcement allows students to plan their finances in advance and ensures uninterrupted access to academic and residential facilities. Timely compliance with the payment and registration schedule will facilitate smooth administrative functioning during the upcoming semester.
Students are advised to complete the process through the designated online portal within the stipulated timeline and seek clarification from departmental heads or the academics office if required.
