NIT Agartala Invites Applications for JRF Position in Polymer Research Project

National Institute of Technology Agartala has announced recruitment for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a research project funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation. The project, titled “Multi-Stimuli Responsive Conductive Organic Polymers,” is supported through the Prime Minister Early Career Research Grant and is scheduled to continue until June 2028.
The project is being led by Dr. Abhishek Koner, Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, who is serving as the principal investigator. The selected candidate will receive a monthly fellowship of ₹37,000 plus house rent allowance, as per foundation norms, for candidates qualified through national eligibility examinations such as CSIR-UGC NET or GATE. The fellowship is applicable for the first two years, with an enhanced amount of ₹42,000 plus allowance from the third year onwards, or as per revised norms.
Applicants must possess an M.Sc. degree in chemical science, while prior experience in organic synthesis will be considered an added advantage. The engagement is temporary and will be governed by the rules and regulations of the institute’s Research and Consultancy Cell.
Interested candidates are required to submit their applications by January 18, 2026. The application should include a biodata, photograph, scanned copies of educational qualifications, research publications (if any), and a statement of interest. Interviews are scheduled for January 19, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the seminar room of the Department of Chemistry. The interview may be conducted in online or offline mode. Applicants must present original certificates, degrees, and experience documents for verification at the time of interview. No travel or daily allowance will be provided.
The institute has stated that it reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process without assigning any reason. Selected candidates will be responsible for the authenticity of all submitted documents, and the fellowship may be terminated at any stage if discrepancies are found.
Candidates selected for the position may also apply for registration in the PhD programme of the Department of Chemistry, subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria prescribed under the institute’s 2018 PhD regulations.
