Silchar | January 01, 2026
The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar has announced admissions to its two-year full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme for the 2026–28 academic session. The programme is offered by the Department of Management Studies and provides dual specializations in Marketing, Finance, and Human Resource Management, integrating core management theory with practical industry exposure.
Structured across four semesters and governed by MBA Regulation 2019, the curriculum begins with foundational subjects such as marketing management, financial management, human resource management, organizational behaviour, microeconomics, digital transformation, quantitative techniques using R, and business communication. These courses aim to strengthen analytical ability, communication skills, and professional personality development.
The second semester advances to strategic management, financial modelling, business statistics, research methodology, macroeconomics, business analytics, production and operations management, and legal aspects of management. Students must then complete a mandatory summer internship of six to eight weeks in a public or private sector organization.
In the third semester, students pursue specialized courses including supply chain and logistics management, international business environment, business ethics, and corporate governance, along with elective papers. The summer internship is formally credited here with a minimum duration of 45 days. The final semester focuses on data visualization, entrepreneurship and project management, advanced electives, and a dissertation or project.
Teaching methodologies include case studies, group discussions, presentations, workshops, seminars, live projects, and industrial visits, ensuring a balance between academic rigor and practical learning.
