IIM Shillong Announces Key Developments in Q4 2025

Indian Institute of Management Shillong issued a series of official notifications between October and December 2025, highlighting developments in admissions, academic conferences, national rankings, seminars, and faculty recruitment, reflecting its focus on academic and professional advancement.
Admissions Open for PGPWE 7th Batch
On December 2, 2025, IIM Shillong announced admissions for the 7th batch of the Post Graduate Programme for Working Executives (PGPWE), a two-year hybrid Executive MBA designed for professionals with a minimum of three years of work experience.
The programme is scheduled to commence on May 26, 2026, and conclude in March 2028. Eligibility criteria include a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) and a valid score in WE-MAT, CAT, or GMAT.
The admission process comprises an online application, personal interview, and a ₹3,000 application fee, with Round 1 interviews scheduled for January 24–25, 2026.
Hosting of the 23rd AIMS International Conference
In November 2025, the institute announced that it would host the 23rd AIMS International Conference on Management, held from December 3 to 5, 2025, in collaboration with the Association of Indian Management Scholars International (AIMS).
The conference brought together academicians, researchers, and industry leaders to deliberate on emerging management trends, challenges, and future opportunities.
National Ranking Achievements
On December 12, 2025, IIM Shillong announced its position in major national rankings, securing 6th place in the Business Today–MDRA Survey 2025 and 7th place in The WEEK–Hansa Research Survey 2025 among top government business schools. The rankings underscore the institute’s growing academic standing and commitment to management education excellence.
Call for Papers: Youth for Impact Seminar
On December 30, 2025, the institute issued a call for papers for the seminar titled “Youth for Impact: Driving Equity and Innovation in Sports Leadership,” organised in association with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The seminar is scheduled for March 5–7, 2026, and will focus on inclusive sports ecosystems, governance, technology integration, and sustainability. The submission deadline is January 31, 2026, with selected participants eligible for travel and accommodation support.
Extension of Gati Shakti Chair Professor Deadline
During November 2025, IIM Shillong extended the application deadline for the Gati Shakti Chair Professor position to December 14, 2025. The role is open to Professors or Professors of Practice with expertise in supply chain management or logistics.
The position offers a five-year tenure with monthly emoluments of ₹2,50,000 plus applicable allowances. Applications were required to be submitted by post along with the prescribed documents.
