Assam University Seeks Guest Faculty for Business Administration

Assam University has invited applications for 12 Guest Faculty positions in the Department of Business Administration. The recruitment aims to fill temporary teaching requirements across multiple specialisations, with a walk-in interview scheduled for January 12, 2026.

Vacancy Details and Reservation

The 12 guest faculty positions include:

• 10 posts open to any specialisation
• 1 post in IT / Systems
• 1 post in English

Reservation of posts is as follows:

• Unreserved (UR): 4
• Other Backward Classes (OBC): 3
• Scheduled Castes (SC): 2
• Scheduled Tribes (ST): 1
• Economically Weaker Sections (EWS – English): 1
• OBC (IT / Systems): 1

Eligibility Criteria

For Any Specialisation (Management):
Applicants must hold:

• A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, and
• A Master’s degree in Business Administration / PGDM / M.Com / CA / ICWA, with First Class or equivalent,
• Along with at least two years of professional experience after completing the master’s degree.

For English Post:
Candidates must possess:

• A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in a relevant subject from an Indian or accredited foreign university, and
• Qualification in NET / SLET / SET.

Candidates holding a PhD awarded under applicable UGC regulations, or a doctorate from a top-500 ranked foreign university, are exempted from NET/SLET/SET requirements.

For IT / Systems Post:
Applicants must have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology / Science, and
• A Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology or an Integrated Master’s degree in a relevant branch,
• With First Class or equivalent in at least one of the degrees.

Remuneration

Selected guest faculty members will be paid ₹1,500 per lecture, subject to a maximum of ₹50,000 per month.

Application and Interview Process

Interested candidates must:

• Email their application to the designated official email address by January 9, 2026, and
• Appear in person for the walk-in interview at 10:00 a.m. on January 12, 2026, at the Conference Hall, Department of Business Administration, Assam University, Silchar.

Applicants are required to bring hard copies of the application along with self-attested documents, including:

• Proof of age
• Educational mark sheets and certificates
• Experience certificates
• Caste certificate (if applicable)

No Travel Allowance (TA) or Daily Allowance (DA) will be provided.
