Tezpur University Invites Applications for Contractual Faculty, Guest Faculty and Research Associate Posts

Tezpur University has invited applications for several temporary teaching and research positions across its Departments of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Applied Sciences, and Molecular Biology & Biotechnology. The recruitment includes contractual faculty for the M.Tech programme in Semiconductor Technology, guest faculty for the Spring Semester 2026, and a Research Associate post under a DBT-funded biotechnology project.
The appointments range from six to eleven months and carry fixed emoluments, with age and category relaxations applicable as per Government of India norms.

Contractual Faculty – Semiconductor Technology
Three contractual faculty members will be engaged for the M.Tech programme in Semiconductor Technology in the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering for a period of eleven months.
Applicants must hold a B.E./B.Tech/B.S. and M.E./M.Tech/M.S. or integrated M.Tech degree in a relevant discipline, with first class or equivalent in at least one of the degrees. Desirable qualifications include specialisation in VLSI Design, Microelectronics, Nanoelectronics, VLSI and Embedded Systems or related areas, preferably supported by a PhD.
Shortlisting will be done as per the academic score framework prescribed in UGC Regulations 2018 (Appendix II, Table 3A). Final selection will be based on interview performance. The consolidated monthly remuneration is Rs. 80,000 with no additional allowances.

Guest Faculty – Applied Sciences
Guest faculty positions for the Spring Semester 2026 are available in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry under the Department of Applied Sciences.
Mathematics applicants should hold an M.A./M.Sc. in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics, Physics candidates an M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics, and Chemistry candidates an M.Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry. A PhD in the relevant subject is preferred.
As per UGC norms, candidates must have at least 55 per cent marks at the master’s level and must have qualified NET, SLET or SET, unless exempted through PhD awarded under UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016. Pre-2009 PhD holders may also qualify for exemption if they meet prescribed publication and evaluation criteria.

Research Associate – Biotechnology Project
A walk-in interview will be held on February 4, 2026 at 10:00 AM in the Department of Molecular Biology & Biotechnology for one Research Associate-I post under a DBT-funded project on the comparative genomic and functional analysis of multi-drug efflux pump homologs in Ralstonia solanacearum.
Applicants must possess a PhD in Molecular Biology or Biotechnology. Experience in recombinant DNA technology, cloning, bacterial genetics, plant pathology or plant immunology will be an advantage.
The selected candidate will receive a consolidated fellowship of Rs. 58,000 per month plus admissible HRA. The maximum age limit is 40 years, with relaxation as per government rules. The initial appointment will be for six months or until further orders, extendable based on performance and project requirements.
Candidates must report for the walk-in interview with original and self-attested copies of educational certificates, experience documents, NET/GATE proof if applicable, caste certificate (if applicable), a signed CV and the prescribed application form.
No TA/DA will be provided. Employed candidates must submit a no-objection certificate from their employer.
