NIT Arunachal Pradesh to Hold Five-Day 5G Technology Workshop in February

The National Institute of Technology Arunachal Pradesh will organise a five-day workshop on advanced 5G technologies from February 9 to 13, 2026, at its Jote campus, the institute announced.
The programme, titled “5G Beyond Connectivity: Latest Innovation, Research, and Applications,” is being conducted by the Department of Electrical Engineering and will include expert lectures and hands-on sessions delivered by specialists from IITs, NITs and industry.
The workshop is open to faculty members, research scholars, undergraduate and diploma students, scientists, industry professionals and semi-skilled workers.
According to the institute, the programme will cover the evolution of 5G and its deployment in emerging sectors such as smart cities, healthcare, industrial automation, intelligent transport systems and mission-critical services.
Technology focus
Participants will receive training in areas including:
- 5G system architecture and performance parameters
- Core network technologies such as network slicing, SDN, NFV and cloud-native platforms
- Massive MIMO, millimetre-wave communication, beamforming and spectrum management
- Integration of 5G with AI, edge computing, IoT, digital twins and cyber-physical systems
- Security, privacy and global standards
- Future research directions and the transition towards 6G
Hands-on sessions will be conducted using the institute’s 5G Use Cases Laboratory, which was established in 2025 with support from the Ministry of Communications.
Registration and fees
The registration fee is ₹2,000 for faculty members and industry participants, and ₹1,000 for research scholars and students.
Completed registration forms must be submitted to the programme coordinator by February 2, 2026. Selection will be communicated by email, after which participants will be required to pay the applicable fee.
Limited paid accommodation will be available on request.
Travel access
NIT Arunachal Pradesh at Jote can be reached via Hollongi Airport, located about 35 km from the campus, with flight connectivity through Guwahati and Kolkata. The nearest railway station is Naharlagun, followed by road travel.
