NIT Arunachal Pradesh Announces Provisional PhD Admissions for 2026

The National Institute of Technology Arunachal Pradesh (NIT Arunachal Pradesh) has released a provisional list of candidates selected for admission to its full-time PhD programmes for the 2026 academic session. The list, published on January 6, 2026, includes 18 candidates selected across multiple academic departments.
The selections were made following an admission advertisement issued on October 29, 2025, and subsequent merit-based interviews conducted by the respective departmental selection committees.
Department-wise Selection
According to the provisional notification, the selected candidates are distributed as follows:
- Computer Science and Engineering: 3 candidates
- Civil Engineering: 1 candidate
- Biotechnology: 2 candidates (including 1 project-based PhD)
- Electronics and Communication Engineering: 3 candidates
- Electrical Engineering: 3 candidates
- Management and Humanities: 2 candidates (including 1 UGC-NET JRF fellowship holder)
- Basic and Applied Sciences: 4 candidates
The selected candidates represent diverse reservation categories, including General, OBC, SC, ST, and Economically Weaker Section (EWS), reflecting the institute’s inclusive admission framework.
Provisional Status and Verification
The institute has clarified that all admissions remain provisional and are subject to:
- Production of original academic and eligibility documents
- Verification of credentials
- Payment of the prescribed admission fees

Commencement of Classes
Classes for the newly admitted PhD scholars are scheduled to commence from January 14, 2026, marking the formal beginning of the 2026 PhD academic session.
