NIT Agartala Issues Guidelines for Robe Collection and Convocation Rehearsal

National Institute of Technology Agartala has issued detailed instructions regarding robe distribution and rehearsal arrangements for its upcoming 18th convocation. As per the guidelines, registered graduating students must collect their convocation robes on January 16, 2026, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. from their respective academic departments. The rehearsal for the ceremony is scheduled on the same day at 3:00 p.m.
According to the notice, robes will be issued strictly within the prescribed time window, and no extensions will be permitted. Graduates who arrive late or fail to collect their robes will not be allowed entry into the convocation venue. Such candidates will be required to collect their degree certificates or provisional documents in absentia from the examination section during regular office hours after the convocation.
The institute has further clarified that only those graduates who have collected their robes will be permitted to participate in the rehearsal. Absence from the rehearsal will result in disqualification from attending the main convocation ceremony.
The directive, issued with the approval of the competent authority, follows an earlier notice dated November 24, 2025. It has been circulated among senior officials and academic administrators, including the director’s personal secretary, convocation in-charge, all deans, professors, heads of departments, associate deans for academics and examinations, the chief warden, undergraduate and postgraduate coordinators, departmental alumni coordinators, deputy registrar (academics), assistant registrars (academics and finance), and the system administrator.
The system administrator has been instructed to upload the notice on the institute’s official website for wider access.
The institute stated that these arrangements are intended to ensure orderly conduct of the convocation ceremony and adherence to established protocols. Graduates have been advised to regularly check the institute’s website for any further announcements related to the event.
