NIT Agartala Invites Nominations for Distinguished Alumni Award

National Institute of Technology Agartala has invited nominations for its Distinguished Alumni Award, open to alumni who graduated between 1970 and 1995. The award seeks to recognise former students who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in fields such as academics, industry, research, public service, entrepreneurship, or social development.
Established earlier as Tripura Engineering College, the institute is considering alumni with a minimum of 25 years of professional experience after graduation. Eligible nominees are expected to exhibit excellence, leadership, integrity, and a record of meaningful contribution to society. Nominations may be submitted by alumni, faculty members, academic departments, alumni associations, or other stakeholders associated with the institute.
As per the guidelines, nominations must be submitted using the prescribed Annexure-I form along with relevant supporting documents. Each nomination must be duly signed and endorsed by the nominator, and incomplete or unsigned submissions will not be accepted.
The nomination form requires details including the nominee’s name, year of admission and passing, degree and branch, present or last-held position and organisation, and contact information. It also allows nominators to indicate the nominee’s area of distinction, such as academics and research, corporate or industry leadership, public service or governance, entrepreneurship or innovation, and social or community impact.
Additional information sought includes a brief summary of the nominee’s major achievements, limited to 500 words, details of notable awards or recognitions, contributions made to NIT Agartala or the alma mater, and a declaration regarding the nominee’s ethical conduct and integrity.
The last date for submission of nominations is January 12, 2026. Completed forms must be sent via email to [email protected]. All eligible nominations will be evaluated by a selection committee constituted by the institute, with final approval granted by the competent authority.
Award recipients will be felicitated during the institute’s convocation or annual alumni meet, and their profiles will be featured on the institute’s official website and alumni records.
The office memorandum, issued with the approval of the competent authority, has been circulated among senior officials, academic departments, alumni association representatives, and administrative sections for wider dissemination.
The initiative reflects the institute’s effort to acknowledge the long-term accomplishments of its alumni and to strengthen engagement between past graduates and the academic community.
