NIT Agartala to Host Global Alumni Meet on January 10-11

The National Institute of Technology Agartala Alumni Association has announced its Global Annual Alumni Meet for 2025, scheduled for January 10 and 11, 2026, at the institute’s campus and in Agartala city. The event, themed around sustainable development through plantation involving active alumni participation, will feature felicitations, cultural activities, and technical discussions.

The invitation, issued on October 26, 2025, extends to all alumni, encouraging participation with family members. Organizers anticipate attendance from veteran alumni in prominent positions across India and internationally. Key highlights include honoring Golden Jubilee alumni from the 1975 batch, along with those from 1970 to 1974; Silver Jubilee from the 2000 batch; Sapphire Jubilee from 1980, including 1975 to 1979; Ruby Jubilee from 1985, covering 1980 to 1984; and Coral Jubilee from 1990, encompassing 1986 to 1989.

Additional recognitions will go to top rank holders in undergraduate and postgraduate programs from 2025, as well as alumni receiving PhD degrees at the institute’s 18th convocation. The event will specially welcome the 2010 batch marking 15 years since graduation. Awards include a Student of the Year prize of 25,000 rupees and innovation funds of 50,000 rupees each for at least two students, sponsored by the 1998 batch.

Felicitations will also extend to alumni couples and families, as well as retired and current teaching and non-teaching staff from various departments. The program incorporates diverse activities such as fun events, cultural and sports programs, and technical seminars on topics including natural gas as a driver for Tripura’s economic growth, startups, innovations, entrepreneurship ecosystems, the role of alumni in institutional development, and Viksit Tripura.

Registration is required by December 21, 2025, via a specified Google form. Participants must contribute more than 1,499 rupees through Google Pay, UPI, or net banking, with 3,000 rupees for couples and 5,000 rupees for families. No registration fee applies to alumni from the 1970 to 1975 batches or the 2024 and 2025 batches, though registration remains mandatory, and voluntary contributions are welcome.

Payments can be made via cheques or drafts in favor of the National Institute of Technology Agartala Alumni, or through core banking to the specified State Bank of India account, UPI ID, or QR code. Communications should be directed to the provided email address.

The draft schedule for January 10 begins with breakfast and registration from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Knowledge Park and SAC Building. The inaugural program from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the auditorium will include felicitations for jubilee alumni, Student of the Year, and innovation fund recipients. Department visits and interactions follow from noon to 2 p.m., with lunch at hostel messes from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Afternoon sessions include felicitations for alumni couples, families, and former vice presidents and general secretaries from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., children’s programs from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., and spouses’ programs from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., all in the auditorium. Concurrent technical programs on startups, innovation, and related topics run from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in department conference rooms. Cultural programs are set from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the auditorium and Knowledge Park, followed by dinner at 8:30 p.m. in the food court.

On January 11, activities start with a rally on sustainable development through plantation from 6:30 a.m., followed by breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Sports events occur from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and a meeting with the chairman, led by veteran alumni, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Lunch is from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., with an annual general meeting from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Felicitations for alumni from 15 years post-graduation and others follow from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Cultural programs run from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., with dinner from 8:30 p.m. onward, including a handover to the 2001 batch.

Alumni are invited to secure advertisements for the event souvenir, with rates ranging from 75,000 rupees for the back cover to 6,000 rupees for a half-page single-color ad. Sponsorship options include platinum at 3 lakh rupees, gold at 2 lakh rupees, silver at 1 lakh rupees, and bronze at 50,000 rupees, each offering visibility in displays, advertisements, and delegate passes. Specific meal sponsorships are available, such as 2 lakh rupees for lunch or dinner on January 10 or 11, 5 lakh rupees for dinner on January 11, and 25,000 rupees per session for breakfast and tea.

The event is organized by Prof. Swapan Bhaumik, chairman and president of the alumni association, and Er. Tapas Marak, organizing secretary and general secretary.

This gathering underscores the alumni’s contributions to the institute’s growth, fostering networking and support for educational advancements.
