PhD Spring 2026 Shortlist Released by NIT Mizoram

National Institute of Technology Mizoram has issued a notification announcing the list of provisionally shortlisted and not shortlisted candidates for the written tests and interviews for its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes for the Spring Semester 2025–26. The lists span multiple departments and categories.

The notice, dated December 27, 2025, clarifies that all shortlisting is provisional and subject to verification of original documents and fulfillment of eligibility requirements.

Department-wise Details

In the Electrical Engineering department, eight candidates applied, of whom seven were provisionally shortlisted. The shortlisted candidates include Lianzampuii and Siddharth Kumar under the full-time regular category, and Rituparna Mukherjee, Pameela M, Subhasis Muhopadhyay, Brahmanand Gandhi, and Hemant Kumar under the part-time category. Kc Lalhriatpuia was not shortlisted.

For Electronics and Communication Engineering, six candidates were considered, with five provisionally shortlisted. These include Sanjeev Singh Rawat, Niraj Kumar, and Mahimai Micheal Raj under full-time regular, and Kagitha Rajesh and Marasu Kranthi Kumar under part-time. Sailaja Pusuluri was not shortlisted.

The Computer Science and Engineering department recorded the highest number of applicants, with 17 candidates, all of whom were provisionally shortlisted. The list includes full-time regular candidates such as Vanlalhmangaihsanga and Siddhanta Roy, full-time self-financed candidates including Appalaswamy and Vanlalropuia Ralte, and part-time candidates such as Jeanie Lalthanpari Poonte, Thota Sivalakshmaiah, and Geetha Vadnala.

In Civil Engineering, 12 candidates applied, and all were provisionally shortlisted. Full-time regular candidates include Lalthangmawii, Sharon K. Vahneiki, and Pallav Saras, while part-time candidates include Arijit Karmakar, Thangmuansang Guite, and Seemab Akhtar. The notification notes that Dipanwita Mahata appears under both full-time regular and part-time categories.

The Mechanical Engineering department received four applications, all of which were provisionally shortlisted. These include Arun Pandian P, Joseph Lianchungnunga, and Sathishkumar U under full-time regular, and Samson Debbarma under the full-time project staff category.

Under Basic Sciences and Humanities and Social Sciences (Chemistry), two candidates—Md Sahid Ahamed and Tamisha Panja—were provisionally shortlisted under the full-time regular category.

Document Verification and Instructions

The institute has mandated that all original documents must be produced during physical reporting, written tests, interviews, or admission, as applicable. Any discrepancy or false information may result in cancellation of candidature.

Candidates currently in employment must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer before appearing for the written test or interview. Applicants under reserved categories are required to produce valid supporting certificates prior to the assessments.

All candidates must bring marksheets of every semester and degree certificates from undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Those with research publications are required to carry copies of journal or conference papers, along with proof of indexing in SCI or Scopus, during the written test or interview.

Dates for the written tests and interviews will be communicated via email by the respective Heads of Departments. For queries, candidates may contact the departments through the official email addresses provided in the notification.

The institute has reiterated that candidates are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of information submitted. The provisional shortlisting remains valid only upon timely submission and verification of all required documents.

This announcement aims to ensure transparency and procedural clarity in the selection process for doctoral research programmes. Candidates are advised to monitor their emails regularly and comply with departmental instructions within the stipulated timelines.
