NIT Meghalaya Invites Applications for Guest Faculty Positions in Computer Science

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya has invited applications for three Guest Faculty positions in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering for a temporary academic engagement commencing later this month.
The recruitment aims to support the department’s academic requirements for the upcoming semester. Selected candidates will be appointed on a purely temporary and contractual basis for the period January 21, 2026, to June 20, 2026.
Eligibility and Specialisation
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering or a closely related discipline, either completed or with the thesis submitted. Candidates with expertise in areas such as C++, Python, application design, computer graphics, data communication, software engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automata and formal languages will be given preference.
Remuneration and Facilities
Selected guest faculty members will receive a consolidated monthly remuneration of ₹65,000, or as per institute norms. The engagement does not carry additional benefits such as allowances, medical reimbursement, pension, or gratuity.
However, the institute may provide free shared hostel accommodation upon request, along with access to the institute bus service between Shillong and Sohra.
Application Process
Interested candidates must submit the prescribed application form along with scanned copies of original documents, relevant academic certificates, and published research papers (if applicable). Applications must be sent via email, with the subject line clearly mentioning the application for the Guest Faculty position in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
A valid email address is mandatory, as all official communication will be conducted electronically. Incomplete applications will not be considered for shortlisting, which will be carried out according to institute norms.
