Sikkim University to Interview 28 Candidates for Registrar Position

Sikkim University has released the list of 28 candidates shortlisted for interview for the post of Registrar, marking the next stage in the recruitment process for one of the Central University’s senior administrative positions.
According to the notification issued by the university, the interviews will be held on February 12, 2026, and may continue on February 13 if required, depending on the number of candidates and the time available. The interviews will take place at the Administrative Building, 6th Mile, Samdur, Tadong, Gangtok.
The university stated that several shortlisted applications have been marked provisional, subject to verification of original documents at the time of the interview.

Candidates marked with an asterisk are required to produce all original supporting documents at the time of interview, failing which their candidature may not be considered.
Interview Process
The university has scheduled February 12 as the primary interview date, with February 13 kept as a reserve day if the process cannot be completed in one day. All shortlisted candidates must report to the designated venue at the university’s administrative complex in Gangtok.
The university clarified that provisional candidates will be allowed to participate only after successful verification of their eligibility documents during the interview.
Opportunity for Representation
Sikkim University has also provided a 10-day window from the date of release of the shortlist, January 19, 2026, for any applicant—whether shortlisted or not—to submit representations or objections regarding the selection list.
Such representations must reach the university within the prescribed period for consideration.
The Registrar is a key administrative position responsible for academic administration, governance support and institutional coordination at the Central University. Further updates regarding the recruitment process will be issued through official university channels.
