NIT Meghalaya Schedules January 6 Interviews for Civil Engineering Guest Faculty

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya has scheduled interviews for three Guest Faculty positions in its Department of Civil Engineering on January 6, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. The interviews follow the application deadline of December 30, 2025.

The institute is seeking qualified candidates with expertise in structural engineering, environmental engineering, water resources engineering, and geotechnical engineering to fill these temporary and contractual academic positions.

Eligibility

Applicants are required to hold a Ph.D. degree in a relevant discipline, either completed or with the thesis submitted, to meet the essential qualification criteria.

Tenure and Remuneration

The engagement period for selected candidates will run from January 21, 2026, to June 20, 2026, strictly on a contractual basis, with no scope for permanent appointment.

Selected guest faculty members will receive a consolidated monthly remuneration of ₹65,000, subject to institute norms. The appointment does not include allowances, medical reimbursement, pension, or gratuity. However, free shared hostel accommodation may be provided if required.

Application and Shortlisting

Applicants were required to submit the prescribed application form in PDF format, along with scanned copies of original academic documents and published research work (if any), via email to the Head of the Department, Civil Engineering. The email subject line had to clearly mention the application for the Guest Faculty position in Civil Engineering.

Incomplete applications were excluded from consideration. Shortlisting has been carried out in accordance with institute norms and internal criteria.

Interview Details

Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email regarding the mode of interview (online or offline) and any additional requirements, such as written tests or presentations. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.

All applicants were advised to provide accurate and active email addresses, as official communication—including interview instructions—will be conducted exclusively through email. Selected candidates must be prepared to join duties by January 21, 2026.
